  • The Curious Case of Clemson's Defensive Line

Entering the 2018 college football season, there were talks about the possibility of Clemson having four defensive linemen drafted in the first round. Since then, talks have died down about the possibility of four. Austin Bryant is out as a first-round prospect. With that though, it is still mentioned far too often that three of them can be selected in the first round.

  • Houston Texans: Positional Needs to Fill in the Offseason

The Houston Texans were well-rounded and pushed through some injuries during the 2018 AFC South championship season. This offseason, the Texans have several needs that need to be addressed. With three picks in the first two rounds, it is a general consensus that the Texans need to address the offensive line and cornerback with those picks.

Over the course of the offseason, I will participate in simulated versions of the offseason. The only difference is rather than having Free Agency before the draft, the mock draft took place before Free Agency. Free Agency is scheduled to open up soon, and will be part two of this series.

  • Why Kyler Murray is Hurting His Draft Stock

Oklahoma quarterback and Oakland Athletics’ centerfielder Kyler Murray lead the Sooners to the playoffs this past season. He did so with some solid weapons in Trey Sermon, Marquise Brown, and CeeDee Lamb, but a large part of their success came from his talent. In the defensively lacking Big 12, Murray carved defenses game in and game out; resulting in a Big 12 championship. Since the day their season ended against Alabama, he has not done himself justice.

  • Houston Texans: Players Who Could Be Released

Even though the Houston Texans had a rather successful season — winning 11 games and the AFC South title —  there were tons of players who did not play up to expectations. With the Texans entering free agency with pretty specific needs, here are some cut candidates.

  • The Misconception of A.J. Brown

Ole Miss had one of, if not the best wide receiver group in the country this past season. With D.K. Metcalf and DaMarkus Lodge working outside, and A.J. Brown in the slot, the passing game was lethal. NFL bound Dawson Knox played tight end also, acting as another threat through the air. While Metcalf got injured and later became the consensus top receiver for the draft, Brown took a lot of heat.

  • Spartans in the Draft: L.J. Scott

L.J. Scott broke onto the scene for Michigan State as a freshman running back. He quickly took over as the lead running back. Scott and Saquon Barkley were the top two freshman backs in the Big Ten, and Scott even put up comparable statistics. After a crowded backfield in 2016 and 2017, and some injuries as well, L.J. Scott is now declaring for the 2019 NFL Draft.
