• Deshaun Watson and the Stigma Around the Offensive Line

This season with the revamped offensive line, the expectations were much the same. Those who were signed were swing players on their former teams. The Texans were in desperate need of help though and they had been steady enough over some years to become starters.

  • What's Gone Right For the Texans

The Houston Texans started the 2018 season poorly. With three straight losses to the Patriots, Titans, and Giants, the season outlook did not look so good. Only three teams since 1990 had ever made the playoffs after starting 0-3; the 1992 Chargers, 1995 Lions and 1998 Bills. Only one team had ever made it to 7-3 after starting 0-3; the 1925 Giants.

  • FCS to NFL: Jazz Ferguson

He does have one game on résumé that will help him tremendously through the draft process. He scored Northwestern State’s only points in a rout against Texas A&M in the season opener. Unfortunately for the Demons, Ferguson does not play defense anymore as the Aggies dropped 59 on them. Ferguson did catch four passes for 129 passes and a score, averaging out to 32.3 yards per reception.

  • How the Texans Can Slow Down the Browns' Offensive Rookie Duo

12 weeks into the season, Mayfield and Chubb have combined for six AFC Rookie of the Week honors. The Texans will try to extend their winning streak to nine this Sunday against Cleveland. They have some major game planning to do if they plan on stopping this rookie offensive duo.

  • Titans at Texans: Keys to Victory

The Tennessee Titans will travel to Houston for tonight’s Monday Night matchup against the Texans. It will be their second meeting this season. The Titans took the first game 20-17, but both teams have made strides since and tonight’s game should look very different.

  • NFL Draft Crush: Julian Love

This season, Love was named to the Thorpe Award watch list, given to the top defensive back in the nation. He was named one of three semifinalists along with LSU’s Williams and Georgia’s Baker. Williams currently leads the fan voting, followed by Love by a narrow margin.

  • Senior Bowler: John Cominsky

The Senior Bowl has become a very important step for the draft process. With the rise of social media, it has become easier to see players fight through their reps without attending the event. The first round of invites have made their way out. This won’t be all the players that get invites, but there are a good amount of players that have accepted their offers.

  • Know Your Foe: Texans at Redskins Q&A

The Texans travel to Washington following their bye week to take on the NFC East leading Redskins. It may be their most difficult game since the win streak has begun. With over a week to gameplan and study film, it seems entirely possible that the Texans have what it takes to win their seventh straight game.

  • Learn the Name: Javon Kinlaw

There are 12 defensive linemen in my top 32 players on big board. In the draft, teams must find their balance between positional needs and drafting talent. While many teams will draft the best player available, there are also several top tier teams that just need to plug a hole to win. These teams will generally opt for a specific position over the best player on the board. This SEC star could find himself in the conversation for a first round draft pick, but should he fall to day two, don’t underestimate his abilities.

  • 2019 NFL Draft: Big Ten Gems

In my experience scouting prospects, player traits and combine scores are the two most important things in player evaluations; assuming no red flags. Red flags can generally consist of reoccurring injury problems or run-ins with the law. Even though those two aspects may be the most important factors in my player evaluations, there has been a pattern over the past few years that is hard to ignore.

  • Senior Riser: Ugo Amadi

Amadi made a name for himself as a junior with 49 tackles, five interceptions, and nine pass break-ups. As a senior, his production had slowed down slightly with 25 tackles, two interceptions, and five pass break-ups. As a defensive back though, generally less production can be viewed as a good thing.

  • Midseason Offensive Positional Grades

Deshaun Watson was on pace last season to have one of the most electric quarterback seasons in history. If you're comparing this season to last season, you would be disappointed. At the end of the day though, it wasn't realistic for Watson to keep on pace with his throwing numbers from last season.
